CORBRIDGE First School marked Road Safety Week by selecting the winners of a road safety poster competition.
Pupils were set a homework project to come up with a design for road safety signs that could be displayed outside the school on the playground gates and fence.
Seven winners were chosen and their designs have now been published on to outdoor boards which have taken pride of place outside the school on St Helen’s Lane.
Headteacher Jennifer Ainsley, said: “We had a brilliant response to the competition.
“Children were invited to come to school wearing bright clothes for a special Be Bright...Be Safe non-uniform day.”
Donations from the event will help cover the cost of the signs, while Tracy Aitkin, Northumberland County Council’s travel plan advisor, visited the school to talk about road safety.
