THE Charlotte Straker Project has been given a £3,500 boost from the organisers of the annual Tynedale Gift Fair.

The event, which is organised by the ladies of the Tynedale Hunt and took place at Matfen Hall last month, has raised more than £40,000 for local charities over the past 12 years and decided to support the Corbridge care facility’s free respite care bed campaign.

The money raised was handed over during a recent hunt meet at Halton, near Corbridge.

Gift fair committee member, Caroline Mason: “We are so pleased to have raised such a substantial amount of money for the Charlotte Straker Project.”

Bill Cunningham, chairman of trustees at Charlotte Straker, said: “We are so grateful to receive this fantastic donation.”
