THE CORBRIDGE community turned out in force on Sunday for a popular village fund-raising event.
More than £950 was raised for the bank holiday wheelbarrow race, with proceeds donated to the Corbridge Youth Initiative and The Royal British Legion.
Local businesses donated gifts and raffle prizes and there were also fancy dress competitions and a kids disco.
Gillian Wood, youth development worker at Corbridge Youth Initiative, said: “Each year, the bank holiday wheelbarrow race has a huge positive impact on the community.
“A massive well done to our village’s young people for helping to run the event and making it loads of fun for everyone to be part of.”
The wheelbarrow race was won by Regan Robinson and Liam Henderson, of Corbridge.
