STUDENTS from Dilston College, near Corbridge, celebrated the end of their college year in style at Langley Castle.

For some students, the event on Saturday was the end of their time at Dilston, with others returning in September.

The young people who attend Dilston come from all over the country, but primarily from the North-East and Cumbria.

For those who are leaving, they may be carrying on their studies at other colleges in Cumbria and Gateshead, moving into independent living or starting work, either voluntarily or paid.

The students returning in September will be building on the skills they have developed in their first year, and preparing for their future after college.

Carli Hayes, who is a job coach at the college, as well as an events co-ordinator, said: “Everyone has been so excited about the ball, they have all been planning outfits and getting ready for the night, so it is great to see them enjoying it so much, especially in such a beautiful setting.”
