A PONTELAND dentist has been elected as senior vice-dean of the Faculty of General Dental Practice.

The national organisation, based at the Royal College of Surgeons, provides guidance and education for dentists, and sets the standards for dental care throughout the UK.

Onkar Dhanoya, pictured, has been the principal dentist at Honour Health (formerly Osborne Dental Group) for over 30 years, providing treatments at its three practices in Ponteland, Stanley and Jesmond.

Dr Dhanoya, who already represents the Yorkshire and Northern region on the FGDP board, graduated from Newcastle University in 1985 and has practised dentistry in the North-East ever since.

He said: “FGDP is all about promoting the highest standards of dental care for patients.”
