Diners invited to anniversary party

THE owners of a restaurant in Haydon Bridge are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.
But what makes this anniversary different is that they are inviting their diners to help them celebrate by offering high discounts off their bills.
Gary and Joanna Thompson of the General Havelock Inn, on the A69 road, will reduce everyone’s restaurant food bill by 25 per cent in the week beginning August 11.
Mrs Thompson said: “We want to share our 25th anniversary celebration with our guests, and what better way to do it than to give something back. It will be a happy time for us and we will be working as usual, so this way, everyone can join in.”
Gary said: “We often have a party when it’s our restaurant anniversary, but this year it seemed better to have everyone share ours for a change.”
