In the swing: Andy Paisley has set up a golf club repair business.

Headed up by PGA professional Andy Paisley, the hotel has unveiled a new, purpose built, custom fit and golf repair centre.

The new addition complements the hotel’s existing facilities and could even help the district’s golfers improve their game.

The centre will custom fit golf clubs to individuals as well as carrying out any necessary repairs and maintenance to clubs.

The facility is the first custom fit centre of its kind in Northumberland.

Andy said: “It is very important to have the right equipment when playing golf. Having correctly fitted equipment can have a big influence on your game.

“You should treat your clubs like going to the dentist or taking your car to the garage and have them serviced regularly – at least once a year.”

Because of his PGA professional status, Andy is fully trained in the custom fitting of clubs and club repair.

The equipment used at the centre is bespoke, and includes a Vector launch monitor, which takes pictures of the ball at high speeds to assist in fitting the perfect club.

New sets of golf clubs fitted include; Mizuno, Taylor and Ping, to name just a few. Brand new clubs purchased from Matfen will now be custom fitted free of charge with features such as club length, grip size and shaft type being taken into account.

Andy added: “Golf clubs are made for Mr or Mrs Average – we all aim to lower our handicap, and by having the right equipment that fits us as individuals and not Mr Average is very important.

“Perfectly fitted golf clubs that feel good to each individual player and allows him or her to hit their best shot is only going to help their game.”
