A LONG-serving member of the Wark branch of the Royal British Legion has been thanked for his commitment.
Dennis Grugan, who joined the Royal British legion in April 1957, was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation at the branch’s annual meeting on Wednesday, September 20.
Mr Grugan has been a member of the committee for 60 years, holding positions of secretary and chairman at different times.
He still serves on the committee, attending functions and parading on Remembrance Sunday and at memorials in Wark, Simonburn and Humshaugh.
Treasurer of the branch Stephen Herod said: “Branch members are very grateful to Dennis for his efforts for the Legion and were delighted to be able to present him with this small token of appreciation.”
