THE  bingo night in aid of the Methodist United Reformed Church last week raised an excellent £380 including donations.

The congregation has asked me to pass on their heartfelt thanks to all those who donated prizes and those of you who attended on the night to make it such a successful evening.

A special thank-you goes to Eddie Millican who did the calling.

The next service at the MURC church is on May 15, at 11am and everyone would be very welcome.

IT was ‘as you are’ at the town hall AGM last Monday. Everyone occupying elected seats on the committee was chosen to continue in post.

The town hall constitution identifies three groups of committee members: representatives from groups like the parish council and the churches; elected members and co-opted members.

There are some vacancies for co-opted members and if you would like to do your bit for the town hall, and would like to discuss what being a committee member entails, you can contact me on (01434) 230605.

The AGM also heard that once the clock on the hall is restored, Brian Long would like to be the official clock-winder again.

AFTER Wark cricket team’s narrow victory by just one run over Humshaugh last week, they will be playing at home to Mitford this Saturday.

Once again the match ball will be sponsored by R&H Scott Ltd. The match will be over 42 overs and will start at 1.30pm. I understand the game must finish by 7.30pm. Spectators will be very welcome and the bar in the club will be open.

THERE is still time to buy tickets for the performance by the JSNL Dance Company at the town hall on Saturday, May 14.

Tickets are available from Vicky on (01434) 230180 or by email on warktownhall@gmail.com. The show starts at 7.30pm.
