THE pounds continue to roll in after the annual Wark Charity Lunch dished up another success.
More than £4,000 was raised as 180 people from the village and surrounding areas gathered at the town hall for the yearly dinner.
With funds going to local causes, more than £60,000 has been raised over the 26 lunches held since its inception in 1990.
Started by a group of volunteers as a one-off in St Michael’s Church, the popularity has snowballed over the years and was attended by a record number of 202 people in 2014.
While that total was slightly down this year, it still proved popular as the 30 volunteers dished up a variety of food before the diners tucked in to the 50 plus desserts on the menu.
