Members of the Great Big Walk stopped off in Tarset to join choir practice at Song Reivers Community Choir, visited the Heritage Centre in Bellingham and went star gazing at Kielder Observatory.
Five walking teams were sent off on their tours from Batley in Yorkshire by comedienne Jo Brand on BBC’s The One Show on May 29. The Great Big Walk is an idea from the Eden Project, funded by the National Lottery and other supporters.
The groups are touring the UK, with walkers visiting community projects on their route to highlight ordinary people going the extra mile for their local areas.
A spokesman for the Great Big Walk said: “It’s been wonderful meeting lovely people across Northumberland.”
They will finish on June 18 in time for The Big Lunch, another Eden initiative which encourages people to get together for food and conversation.
