ST Aidan’s church, Thorneyburn, welcomed Bishop Frank White on Sunday, July 26, when he conducted a confirmation service – the first confirmation held in this church in living memory.

After the service, the bishop led the congregation outside to take a moment to look around at the parish and to pray for the life of the whole community, reminding them that the Christian life is led at home amongst neighbours, as well as out in the wider world.

NORTH Tyne Women’s Institute do not have a meeting in August but ask you all to support them at the Falstone Show, where they will have their stall in the craft tent selling home-baked goodies.

They are also looking forward to the next meeting on Thursday, September 10, in Tarset Village Hall, at 7.15pm, when there will be a talk, 100 years of fashion, which will be open to non-members. Further details will be provided nearer the time.

FOR those wishing to attend BADDS’ next play performance, it may be worth noting that the date of the above women’s institute talk will clash with one of the play performance dates, so those wishing to attend both will need to book play tickets (when they are available, of course) for one of the other performance days... further information to follow!
