A BYRNESS woman is to stand trial, accused of making an ‘indecent or grossly offensive’ telephone call.

Lynn Stoker appeared before Newcastle Magistrates Court on Tuesday to face one charge of sending a letter, communication or article conveying false information.

The 59-year-old is accused of making a telephone call in Northumberland on March 3 with ‘the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient.’

Stoker, of Raw Farm House, Byrness, denies the charge and will stand trial on September 12.
