THE Redesdale Society meets at Otterburn Memorial Hall on Friday, June 10. The guest speaker is Dr David Jones who will present an illustrated talk entitled Revealing theBorder roads, their archaeology and history. The meeting starts at 7.30pm.

A FUND-RAISING domino drive is being held at Rochester Village Hall on Friday, June 10, starting at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome.

THE next showing at Elsdon Film Club is on Friday, June 10. Doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm.

Admission is free and sweets and refreshments will be on sale.

THIS year’s Big Lunch in Elsdon will be held on Sunday, June 12, starting at midday, and coincides nicely with the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.

The organisers have provisionally arranged to use Elsdon Village Hall for the event but, if the weather is fine, the lunch will be held beside the village green.

Those attending are asked to take along a contribution to the lunch, something to sit on if the village green is used and their own refreshments.

THE committee of Elsdon Village Hall holds its annual general meeting at the hall on Monday, June 13, starting at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome.

THE Rede River Rocks music festival is being held at the Rede, Tyne and Coquet Sports Centre, Otterburn, on Saturday, June 25, from 2pm until late evening.

Live music starts at 2.30pm and features The Lounge Lizards, Takahaad and other bands.

As well as the music, there will be children’s activities and real ale and food will be on sale throughout the day. The event is sponsored by local businesses. Free camping and parking is available.
