Lindsay Davidson’s boys Angus (9) and Robert (6) both suffer from the muscle- wasting condition Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Angus lost the ability to walk at the age of eight, while Robert finds walking increasingly difficult as his muscles weaken.
Lindsay (44), who is from Kielder, signed up for the 10k run as part of Kielder Marathon weekend.
She said: “I am running to raise money for vital research into discovering different therapies and possible drug treatments which could help my boys have a brighter future.”
