A NEW partnership has been made which will present exciting new opportunities for Kielder Water and Forest Park, after another incredible year for tourism.

Kielder Water & Forest Park has welcomed Northumberland National Park as its newest member, joining other members Northumbrian Water, the Forestry Commission, Calvert Trust Kielder, Kielder Observatory Astronomical Society and Northumberland County Council.

The relationship will strengthen the work they did together which led to the designation of Kielder and the National Park as Europe’s largest Gold Tier International Dark Sky Park in 2013.

And it comes just as Northumberland National Park prepares to open The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre in 2017.

Lynn Turner, director of Kielder Water & Forest Park, said: “The addition of Northumberland National Park Authority to the Kielder Water & Forest Park Development Trust adds a wealth of knowledge and experience to the trust and reflects the importance of the work we do to develop and promote this incredible part of Northumberland.”
