THERE are a few changes to service schedules. The barber bus will not visit Humshaugh on Thursday, August 6, because of holidays.

The Wednesday art group has now finished for the summer.

The Mothers‘ Union will be meeting on August 13, instead of its normal first Thursday in the month.

All these services will resume their usual schedules in September.

ARE you interested in football – watching, coaching or playing – under 18s, males and females?

If your answer is ‘yes’, then Marianne Pughe would like you to join her for an informal meeting on Sunday, August 9, at 7pm, at the football pitch on Humshaugh playing field to discuss developing football teams in Humshaugh.

Marianne would like your input in assessing the current football facilities on the playing field, how to improve them and setting up and coaching the new teams.

LAST week’s quiz, won by One Man Down, raised £127 for Barrasford Scout Group. The next quiz will be on September 15.

CONGRATULATIONS to the children of Humshaugh First School who have been supplying the village shop with vegetables grown in their school garden. Well done to these enterprising youngsters and to their teachers and garden volunteers.

HERE’S an early note about the Northumberland Historic Churches Trust ‘Ride and Stride’ event which will take place on Saturday, September 12.

St Peter’s Church, and most of the churches in the deanery, will be open along with a host of churches across Northumberland and Durham.

Cyclists from Chollerton will go out as usual but any form of transport may be used. There will be more information nearer the time but if you are interested in taking part please contact John McCollum on (01434) 681682.

ON Sunday, in St Peter’s Church, there will be a Holy Communion 1662 service at 9.30am. All are welcome.
