CONGRATULATIONS to Kirsten Francis who has been elected to be deputy chairman of the management board of Northumberland National Park.

This is an important and exciting voluntary post for Kirsten where she, with the other board members, will direct the work of our national park.

OUR shop has a supply of bus timetables showing the revised schedules for the buses in and out of our village and the surrounding areas.

WEDNESDAY, August 19, is ‘bat night’.

Tina Whiffen will lead a walk starting in the church yard to watch bats flying and feeding before walking down to the river to watch them feeding over the water.

Meet at the village hall at 8.30pm.

HUMSHAUGH Women’s Institute will meet on Thursday, August 20, at 7pm in the village hall.

The speaker at this meeting will be Ray Blanckley who will talk about Bees and Beekeeping.

An invitation is extended to non-members, male and female, to come along to listen to Ray from 7.30pm and for refreshments afterwards.

ARKLES bakery uses the village hall kitchen to bake the most delicious cakes to supply our shop.

HUMSHAUGH Cricket Club‘s second team will play at home tomorrow against Corbridge Millers. The first team will play away against Stocksfield. Both matches start at 1.30pm.

ON Sunday, in St Peter’s Church, there will be a holy communion service at 9.30am. All are welcome.
