Hundreds of people enjoyed a one-off gig from comedian, television and radio star Rory Bremner to raise funds for disability charity Calvert Trust Kielder.
The gig, at Jesmond’s Royal Grammar School, raised more than £8,000 for the charity, which will use the money to help give life-changing experiences to disabled and disadvantaged children across the North-East along with their family, friends and carers.
The highly-entertaining show included lots of anecdotes and impressions and a Q&A session, when many of the audience got to ask Rory questions about his life and career.
Rory said he was inspired to raise money for the charity after spending a day at the centre in Kielder and being impressed with their work.
Mr Bremner said: “Calvert Trust Kielder does wonderful things with wonderful people in a wonderful location.
“I’m delighted that the evening was such a great success and such a lot of money was raised for a fantastic cause.”
