AN injured climber was rescued from a crag near Kirkwhelpington on Sunday evening.

The woman had fallen onto a ledge at Great Wanney Crag, where she sustained a suspected fractured ankle. Northumbria Police requested the assistance of mountain rescue shortly before 6pm.
