AT THE recent annual meeting of Chollerton Parish Council, Coun. Jen Dover was re-elected as chairman. Councillors Denny Phillips and Tom Milburn, who have stepped down, were thanked for their time and input over the years and Lee Buckingham, Barrasford, and Edward Heslop, Colwell, have now been co-opted in their place.
The next meeting of the parish council will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at 7.30pm in Colwell Village Hall, when officers from Northumberland County Council will be outlining the findings of the review of supported bus services.
BIRTLEY Village Hall invites you to a family barbecue on Sunday, July 19, from 1pm.
As well as delicious food for all to enjoy, there will be organised games for children to play and an appearance from local singing talent, Amy Ridley.
THE Gunnerton midsummer barbecue, planned for Sunday, June 19, has been replaced by bacon and sausage butties on Saturday, July 25, from 10am until noon, in the church. All are welcome.
THERE will be champagne and strawberries in Birtley on Sunday, July 26.

Great Swinburne: St Mary’s RC Church, mass at 10.15am and noon every Sunday, the noon mass in the extraordinary form, said in Latin.
