AN eight-year-old Bellingham First School pupil has donated some of her hair to children who have lost theirs through illness.

Ebony Canney, from Bellingham, donated nine inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust two years ago, and two weeks ago she had another 11 inches chopped off.

The Little Princess Trust gives free real-hair wigs to children who have lost their hair through illness.

Ebony’s mum, Louise, and aunt, Debbie Finlayson, have been running a fund-raising page From Callie With Thanks since 2014 to support charities which help children going through cancer treatment. They donated 21 inches of hair between them in their first fund-raising event.

“The first time she had seen us do it and said can I do it too,” explained Louise. “Straight after having it cut this time she said she wants to do 12 inches next time.”

Ebony also raised over £100 for the Little Princess Trust through sponsorship.
