VOLUNTEERS are being sought to maintain a recently-refurbished woodland in Allendale.
The Edwardian Pleasure Gardens at Deneholme were transformed over the summer as part of an investment scheme by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership.
A new footbridge was installed over the Philip Burn, while paths were laid to provide access through woodland to the centre of the village.
A viewing platform was also installed near the entrance offering elevated views of the gorge and other features.
Now the AONB partnership wants to establish a team of volunteers to help look after the woodland, with tasks ranging from coppicing to charcoal burning.
