ESSENTIAL road safety measures are set to be installed on a road in the Allen Valleys.
Concerns were raised last month after trees on private land, just off the A686 road south of Whitfield, were felled.
The trees guarded motorists from a substantial drop, and the route is used daily by school buses.
Speaking at a meeting of Allendale Parish Council last Thursday, local county councillor Colin Horncastle said recently installed warning signs and road markings were only a short term measure.
He explained: “The county council is trying to find the money to put up a safety fence there.”
