COUNCILLORS in Allendale briefly thought they had established new links with France last week.
A letter addressed to “Allendale Paris Council” was read out during the latest meeting of Allendale Parish Council.
Coun. Gordon Whitfield said: “This sounds interesting. Have we been twinned?”
Unfortunately, this turned out not to be the case, and it was, instead, a misprint on a letter from Haltwhistle Swimming and Leisure Centre, thanking councillors for their recent £50 donation.
