The service was led by the Rev. Jon Russell, and attended by children from Allendale Pre-School, Allendale Primary School, Whitfield Primary School, and Haydon Bridge High School.
Local cubs and scouts, and Allendale’s Messy Church group, were also represented.
Deputy church warden Sylvia Milburn said: “It was a lovely atmosphere with lots of happy smiling faces. My favourite part is when the candles are lit and everything falls silent.”
