The C322 road at Whitfield collapsed in December, after rising flood waters swept away a large section of the embankment, along with a number of trees.
Motorists have had to use a temporary road, constructed on an adjacent plot of land, while engineers from Northumberland County Council carried out work to shore up the embankment using a mixture of reinforced earth and gabion baskets.
Now the road has reopened fully and the council is confident the materials used will help to prevent a repeat collapse.
