It was part of an activity weekend at Ninebanks Youth Hostel, which saw them work towards coveted achievement badges.
Cub Scout troops in the Hadrian District, which includes Haydon Bridge and the Allen Valleys, joined together for the weekend, which included an overnight stay at the Ninebanks hostel.
They enjoyed games in the evening, and played in the snow which had fallen on higher ground.
The following morning, the youngsters were up early for a sunrise walk along the Mohope Valley, which put their map reading skills to the test.
The weekend saw the cubs make good progress towards achieving their Hikes Away and Nights Away activity badges.
Both Allen Valleys and Haydon Bridge Cub groups have spaces for members. To get involved, email tess@allenvalleysscouts.co.uk or for Haydon Bridge, email ian010563@gmail .com
