THE familiar bunting flew high above Catton's village green last weekend as residents turned out for a popular annual event.
The Catton Village Summer Fair, on Saturday (JUNE 24), was an extravaganza of dancing, tug-of-war, and three-legged racing.
Members of Catton Young Dancers entertained with a memorable display, while several youngsters took part in the wide-ranging children's sports.
There was also plenty on offer for those who wanted a slightly more relaxing time.
There were stalls offering plants, bric-a-brac, books, and other treasures, while members of Catton WI provided afternoon tea.
All proceeds raised at the fair will support Catton Village Hall, a well-used community resource.
Village hall secretary Hilary Nunn said: "Local volunteers do a wonderful job for this fair every year.
"They donate plants and bric-a-brac for stalls, they provide prizes, and do whatever they can to make it a lovely day out for everybody.
"In recent times, some of our much loved residents have passed away, and they were very much in our thoughts at this year's fair."
