A COUNCILLOR is confident that a sheltered housing scheme for elderly people in the Allen Valleys will not close.
Fears were expressed last month after Anchor Homes launched a review of the services it provides at Arnison Close, and confirmed it was considering the possibility of transferring the 12-bedroom complex to another provider.
Local county councillor Colin Horncastle called for reassurances over the future of the scheme, which has supported many Allen Valley residents over the past three decades.
Anchor Homes confirmed this week it will be transferred to another provider.
Coun. Horncastle added: “I have now spoken to Anchor Homes, and I’m confident that they are looking to sell Arnison Close as a going concern.
“I don’t mind who runs the scheme, so long as the accommodation and the service provided there does not change.”
