THE Cliff Calvert Golf Classic at Allendale Golf Club was a great success I hear, and the Lions Club would like to thank everyone who helped.

Final figures are not all in just yet but it’s thought that as much has been raised as in previous years, if not a wee bit more!

ALLENDALE Methodist Church is holding a coffee morning tomorrow, from 10am until 11.30am with cake and preserve stalls. Everyone’s welcome to come along.

SUNDAY sees the Keenley Methodist Church’s Camp Meeting Service which will be conducted by John Carrick, from Crawcrook.

Duets will be performed by George and Paul Charlton, with a collection and tea to follow. Everyone’s welcome here too!

THE big event coming up is, of course, the agricultural show on August 15.

There’s fun and games for all the family and it’ll be a great day as it always is.

More details next week.

RESIDENTS in Catton are getting a bit fed up of the ongoing roadworks.

There seems to have been traffic lights for an awful long time and certainly for longer time than was communicated to the parish council a couple of months ago.

If I find any news on this, I’ll let you know.
