ALLENDALE Village Hall will be open from 6pm until 9pm today for a friendly family fun evening.

Some can plug in their smart phones or ipods into the big sound system while others can chat in the new hall.

There’s no particular organisation so just go along and enjoy the facilities.

TEN potters will be showing their work at Pots in the Byre at Broadwood Hall, Allendale, from tomorrow until Sunday, July 5, from 11am until 5pm. You can get further information at www.broadwoodstudios.co.uk

ALLENDALE Village Hall Film Club is showing Pride on Monday, June 22. It’s a film about a London Gay Pride group supporting striking Welsh miners in 1984. Curtains up at 7.45pm and cheese and wine from 7.15pm.

IN the last 12 months, Allendale Lions have raised over £6,500 and made donations to many good causes. Local and regional beneficiaries include Allendale Cricket Club, our primary school and horticultural society.

Donations also went to Catton Village Hall, St Cuthbert’s Church, Haltwhistle Leisure Centre, Cancer Research UK, North of Tyne Search and Rescue Team, the Nepal Earthquake Appeal and others too!

DON’T forget that it’s Catton Fair’s 25th anniversary tomorrow from 1pm. There’s fun for all the family!

ON Sunday, it’s Catton’s open air service hosted by Catton Methodist Church on the village green at 3pm. The preacher is Alex Duncan from Hexham and he’ll be supported by members of Hexham Brass. There’s tea afterwards in the village hall and everyone’s welcome to come along.

ARTIST Melanie Barret is exhibiting her new work on urban and landscape paintings at the Forge Studios until the end of this month.
