IT’S the opening of the Aurora treatment room within the new Natural Beauty Salon in Allendale’s Market Place on Saturday, September 5, from 1pm. Go along for nibbles, drinks and to see what’s happening.

THE gardens at Thornley House will be open to the public as part of the Open Gardens scheme, which supports the British Red Cross, on Sunday, August 30 from 2pm until 5pm.

There’ll be a plant stall and refreshments amongst other attractions.

THERE’S live music at the Golden Lion on Saturday, August 29, featuring the band Dakota.

LEADING up to the Allen Valley’s Folk Festival, there’s to be some experimental youth folk music workshops led by professional musician Rob Kitchen, who lives here in Allendale.

All young people are welcome to join in, with or without experience.

The workshops will be at Catton Village Hall on Friday, September 25 and on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3.
