MORE than 500 bikers took to the road on Sunday to pay an emotional tribute to Dane Curran.
Keen motor cyclist Dane (21), from Allendale, died two weeks ago, when his Honda Shadow bike collided with a car near Duxford in Cambridgeshire.
Josh Carr, who organised the ride to Bamburgh, from three starting points across the North-East, said he was overwhelmed by the turnout.
Images of the day were captured by professional photographer Gavin Forster, a friend and former colleague of Dane’s.
Gavin said: “It was amazing to see all the bikes in convoy. The number of people who turned out reflected how well known Dane was and how popular he was.“
Family and friends will come together for Dane’s funeral at Hexham Abbey today, at 12.45pm.
It will be followed by a cremation at Newcastle’s West Road Crematorium, at 3pm.
A wake will take place afterwards, at Hexham Mart, shortly after 4pm.
