TEAMS battled for four days to help get vital medical supplies to a family.

Becky Creasey was snowed in at her Keenley home between Wednesday and Saturday, with her parents Kathy and John McDougall, and her 12-week-old baby boy, Fox Creasey.

Highways chiefs from Northumberland County Council came to the rescue on Saturday, when pharmaceutical supplies were required by Becky.

She explained: “We had enough food but needed medication.

“Our friends and neighbours had attempted to get this to us via tractor and quad bike without success, as the drifts were 7ft high in places.

“The snow blower arrived on Saturday afternoon, followed by the plough, and the council did a remarkable job responding as they did. We can’t thank everyone enough.

“My dad also spent four hours clearing our 350-yard drive, and also helped clear snow for neighbours.”
