Organised by local group, Music in Allendale, St Cuthbert’s Church in the village will be welcoming the Gildas String Quartet on Saturday.
The concert is the latest in a long line of events organised by Music in Allendale, which was formed in 1992.
John Prendiville, who was involved in organising the concert, said: “Music in Allendale has always made a point of inviting young, up-and-coming musicians to perform.
“The quartet has been selected to perform in the highly regarded Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition later this year.
“They have a concert tour of China planned for summer and return visits to St John’s, Smith Square, London and Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall.”
