WYLAM Brewery is top of the hops after one of its beers was crowned the best in the country.
Jakehead, produced by Wylam Brewery, has been named number one in a poll of Britain's 100 Hottest Beers.
The beer emerged victorious after a three-month online search which saw thousands of votes pour in from across the country.
The winning beer, a rich and flavour-packed IPA at 6.3 per cent ABV, is a rarity south of Tyne and Wear.
Dave Stone, from Wylam Brewery, said: "It looks like we’d better brew some more of it, now that it‘s Britain’s hottest beer, so people outside the North-East can get the chance to try it.”
