Two locations in the Newbrough area were used during filming for the first episode of series eight.
Cast members including Vera, herself, Brenda Blethyn and Kenny Doughty, who plays DS Aiden Healey, were among the ITV cast, on Monday.
It was not the first time the Vera crew has stepped foot into the district.
Filming took place in Tynedale last summer, at Blanchland and Ridsdale, when Liz Askew, landlady of the Gun Inn, memorably closed the pub during the day while filming took place. The Vera cast also visited Barrasford in 2015.
It is not known when the latest footage will be screened.
