A WORLD War Two device, believed to be an unexploded grenade, has been found at a construction site in Hexham.
Police have put a cordon in place in Allendale Road after workers made the discovery at 10.20am and immediately raised the alarm.
Officers say a small number of properties have been evacuated and a cordon is currently in place.
The bomb disposal team are at the scene and are expected to carry out a controlled explosion.
