POLICE are investigating after a number of vehicles went missing across Tynedale last weekend.

Between 1am and 7am on the morning of Saturday, August 20, a motorbike was taken from a back garden in Haydon Bridge.

The red Kymco 125 motorcycle worth around £200 was snatched from a property in Langley Gardens.

Overnight on Sunday, August 21, a Land Rover was stolen from an address in Otterburn.

And police are investigating another motorbike which has gone missing from a layby on the outskirts of Hexham.

On Sunday, August 21, the Suzuki 600 motorbike was left on a lay-by of the eastbound A69, just before Rotary Way after the biker suffered a breakdown.

However when the owner returned the next morning the motorbike had gone.

Police are looking into a number of possibilities, including liaising with the Highways Authority and looking into whether the vehicle was taken by scrap men presuming it had been abandoned.

Anyone with information regarding any of the incidents is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101.
