HEXHAM'S notorious West Road junction was in chaos today as emergency services rushed to two crashes in just over an hour.
At 10am police were called to a crash at the junction between the A69 and the B6351.
A Vauxhall Corsa and a Renault Megane were involved in one collision.
A driver was taken to hospital, the other was said to be un-injured.
Barely an hour later, at 11.09am Northumbria Police responded to a report of a second crash at the same location.
A Landrover car and a Fiat Uno were involved in the collision.
There were not believed to be any casualties.
Northumbria Police said that no road closures are in place following the incidents.
However local reports suggest that motorists are taking a diversion via Warden in order to travel eastbound on the A69.
