THE range of courses on offer to sixth form students at Haydon Bridge has been cut.

Law, BTEC sport and agriculture have been dropped as post-GCSE options.

Executive headteacher Dr Judith Greene said there was insufficient interest in animal management and law at A-level. And she said the school now offered a single choice of A-level PE.

“Those students in the upper sixth who are already studying these courses will finish them,” she said.

She insisted Year 12 students could still choose from a wide range of courses. “We have broadened the offer for the sixth form this year.”

The school also provides enrichment activities and courses for all sixth form students in first aid, cooking, CV writing and interview skills.
