TWO mountain rescue teams were called into action on Monday when a 13-year-old boy suffered a leg injury in a climbing accident in Redesdale.
The boy was part of an school group climbing East Woodburn Crag.
The North East Ambulance Service was called, and requested the support of the Northumberland National Park mountain rescue team and the North of Tyne mountain rescue team to assist with the evacuation, due to the terrain and distance from the nearest road.
The incident involved 12 volunteer members for 90 minutes.
