THE former vicar of Riding Mill, Canon Alison White, became the Church of England‘s second female bishop on Friday.
Members of her former congregation travelled from Tynedale to York Minister for the consecration service, installing her as the new Bishop of Hull.
Also present was her husband, Frank, Assistant Bishop of Newcastle, making them the only husband and wife team of bishops in the world!
