YOUTH organisations across the district are planning a wide range of fun-filled activities during the school summer break.

Tynedale Youth Forum's member groups will be providing opportunities for youngsters, with residential trips to many destinations, including the Lake District, Blackpool, Beamish, and the Unit 23 Skatepark in Dunbarton, Scotland.

Other trips include canoeing, raft building, rock climbing, orienteering, mountain biking, cinema, gardening and environmental work, first aid, sports and arts programmes.

The forum's Barbara Mansfield said youth groups across Tynedale will make members aware of opportunities over the coming weeks.

She said: "Youth projects across the district do not wind down over the summer, in fact they do the very opposite with more events and activities to engage young people in meaningful activity."

Miss Mansfield said youngsters can get involved via, Allendale Youth Project, Bellingham Youth Project, Corbridge Youth Initiative, Haltwhistle Young & Sweet, Hexham Youth Initiative, Kirkwhelpington Youth Club, Prudhoe Youth Project, and Redesdale Youth Project.
