HAYDON Bridge has won a prestigious award for its contribution to Northumberland Day.
Residents in the village came together for a street party, which included live music and entertainment, and a community pic-nic, on May 28.
The village has won the 'best community involvement' category in the specially created 'Northumbie Awards', for its efforts on the day.
Northumberland Day organiser Jane Hunt said: "When I arrived at Haydon Bridge to see what was going on, I couldn't believe how vibrant and bustling everything was.
"There were smiles to be seen all around and hundreds of people enjoying the wide variety of things to see and do.
"The decoration was superb and there was a fantastic ambience. Haydon Bridge should be very proud of what the village achieved and the joy that it spread on the day."
