A PLANNING application has been lodged with Northumberland County Council for the re-opening of a section of Prudham Quarry for the extraction of sandstone. The application is open for comment and objection until June 3.

Residents of Frankham have put together a letter template that you may wish to use to object to the quarry proposal.

Individual letters carry more weight than a multi-signature petition. They are also setting up a fund to cover postage and letters will be collected from boxes placed in the garage and the two pubs.

MANY people in our area have seen someone struggle with cancer, and with this in mind I have been asked to include the following message about an event in the Bodywork Centre, in Hexham.

“Is anyone free to do a short spot for our Macmillan fund-raiser ‘Summer Lights’ – any time between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, June 25.

Acoustic only, as there is no space for sound equipment. Ring me ahead of time if you can help, thanks. Warm regards Paula, The Bodywork Centre, tel: (01434) 601577.”

THE school is asking for your help. Do you know of anyone who has a Maypole they no longer need? If you can help, please contact the school on (01434) 674284.
