EMERGENCY services rushed to Hexham on Sunday morning after a man threatened to jump off the Tyne Bridge.
Police and fire crews attended the scene at around 9.30am where a man was poised to jump into the river.
Motorists driving in and out of Hexham were directed around the scene by police.
Fire crews were on hand in the event that the man did jump, fortunately he was talked down and police say he is now safe.
