A MAN charged with seven counts of burglary in Tynedale is due to appear in court today.

Colin Richardson (46), of no fixed abode, will appear at North Tyneside Magistrates‘ Court after he was arrested and charged in connection with the offences, which all happened between Tuesday, September 1 and Monday, November 2.

Two homes on Main Street in Corbridge, Mount View Terrace and Ridley Mill Cottages in Stocksfield, and Collingwood Drive, Elvaston Road and Hextol Terrace in Hexham were all targeted.

Detective Inspector Dave English said: “Reducing the number of burglaries is a priority for us. We know the impact being broken into has not just on victims, but their family, friends and neighbours as well.

“We want to reassure residents that our activity to target those suspected of burglary is relentless and we want to work with the public to help protect them from it.”
