THE future of overnight urgent care services at Hexham General Hospital is set to be decided on Thursday.
Urgent care centres at Hexham, North Tyneside and Wansbeck hospitals have been closed between midnight and 8am, since last December.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust introduced the "temporary" overnight closures to maximise the skills of staff during the busy winter period.
But in March, the closures were extended by a further three months until June.
Now the trust's board is set to meet on Thursday, with a decision expected to be made before the end of the day.
